Doing qualitative interviews with people with dementia and their carers/relatives: Tips, strategies and considerations

In this masterclass, Dr Catherine Quinn from the University of Exeter and Dr Alex Hillman from Cardiff University focus on conducting qualitative interviews with people with dementia and their carers or relatives. The masterclass provide tips on preparing for the interview and developing an interview protocol. It discusses useful strategies that can be used during the interview. The masterclass also proves some guidance on interpreting interviews.

Involving people with dementia and carers in research: Recommendations from the Action on Living Well: asking you (ALWAYs) group

In this masterclass, Rachael Litherland from Innovations in Dementia is joined by the IDEAL study PPI ALWAYs group member Keith Oliver, Dr Catherine Quinn from the University of Exeter and Dr Alex Hillman from Cardiff University to discuss public and patient involvement (PPI) in research. The masterclasses reflects on the value of PPI in research from the perspective of both advisory group members and the researchers. The masterclass contains recommendations for good practice when planning or using PPI in research.
